QUESTION FOUR

January 25, 2018

What should I do, if a friend tells me about being bullied?

The single most proactive thing you can do to protect yourself and your friend is to report the bullying - true story.

The Biggest thing you can do is to be an upstandard. Studies show that by being an upstandard, there is a 57% changes that you could stop the bullying right there.

Make sure your friend is included in activities. Walk with them to class, sit with them, so that if the bullying takes place, in your presents, they’ll feel more confident.

If you're uncomfortable getting involved, tell a teacher you trust.  Just because the bullying isn’t happening to you, doesn’t mean you don’t have a responsibility to report it.

Put yourself in your friends shoes… Do what you hope your friend would do for you, if the roles were reversed.Set a good example. Never encourage bullying behavior but rather, encourage your friend to seek help or to stand up against the hate.

On our bullying page, is a form where you can report bullying directly to Leading2Greater, where we’ll hand deliver it directly to your schools principle, if you’d like us to do so. Also on that page, I have the direct links to the Florida statutes along with Columbia County Student Code of Conduct and Bullying and Harassment Policies mentioned above.
